Experience

Amelia “Amy” Carolla is the founding Partner in Carolla Law. Her practice concentrates on representing parents and children in education-related matters, guardianships, and estate planning.

Prior to forming Carolla Law, Amy was a partner in a small firm specializing in education matters. Amy was also previously associated with a mid-sized Philadelphia law firm where she co-chaired its Special Education Law practice group. She handled complex commercial litigation for publicly and privately held companies there and at another mid-sized firm in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Amy served as a law clerk for the Honorable Charles M. Rand of the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey.

Amy was an adjunct professor at Temple University School of Law, teaching a course annually on Special Education Law.

Community

Amy is on the Board of Directors of the Justin Accardi Foundation for the Arts, an organization dedicated to furthering the goal of artists and providing scholarships to students pursuing cinematic arts.  Amy served on the Board of Directors of the Good-Looking Foundation, a Voorhees-based nonprofit organization established to promote and support the fight against autism in South Jersey. She is the past Chair of the Southern New Jersey Early Intervention Collaborative, a nonprofit organization that coordinates early intervention services for children with special needs who are three years or younger.

Admissions

Amy is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

Education

Amy received her J.D. degree from Rutgers University School of Law at Camden in 1995 where she was an Editor of the Rutgers Law Journal. She earned a B.A. degree from Rutgers College in 1992, where she majored in English and Political Science.  Amy received her L.L.M. in Taxation from Temple University Beasley School of Law and also holds a graduate law Certificate of Estate Planning.

Amy, known for her tenacity, persistence, and attention to detail, combines her well-honed litigation skills with her understanding as a parent to provide zealous advocacy and supportive estate planning.
